Straighten Your Smile Without an Orthodontist
One of the benefits of Invisalign over traditional braces is that you don't have to see an orthodontist for treatment. Dr. Buono can create a customized Invisalign treatment plan right at his Long Island practice. Many existing patients appreciate this benefit, as they already have established trust with Dr. Buono and don't have to worry about finding an orthodontist. Caring for Your Clear Aligners Tips on How To Keep Your Aligners Clean and Safe
Rinse
Rinse your mouth after you eat or drink anything besides water. You should also rinse your aligners before you reinsert them, to ensure there are no lingering food or beverage particles from a previous meal.
Clean
A great way to clean your Invisalign clear aligners is to use the Invisalign cleaning system. However, denture cleaner works as well. Only brush your aligners with a soft-bristled toothbrush and gentle soap: hard bristles and abrasive toothpaste can leave scratches and a cloudy film, making the aligners more visible when worn.
Place
Being removable is one of the major advantages of Invisalign over metal braces, but it does mean they can be misplaced. Always keep your aligners in a safe place where they cannot be lost or damaged. Lost or damaged aligners can add to your treatment time and cost.
How Much Does Invisalign Cost?
The Simple Answer? It Varies.
Just like the amount of time you will need to wear your aligners will vary, the cost of your treatment will vary based on your individualized needs. But a beautiful, straight smile is worth every penny.
We Offer Competitive Prices
Dr. Buono's fee structure is very competitive. Plans differ, but it is possible that your insurance could cover some of the expenses. Our warm, friendly staff will work with your carrier to get you the maximum coverage available.

Invisalign FAQs
How Long Will I Have to Wear My Aligners?
The answer will depend on your individual alignment needs. Minor misalignments could be improved in as little as six months, while more complex cases could take over a year. Dr. Buono will go over the length of your treatment plan during your complimentary consultation at his practice.
Is Invisalign Permanent?
Yes! The straightening effects of Invisalign can last your entire life. Wearing your retainer regularly ensures your teeth won't shift out of alignment so you can forever enjoy the health and aesthetic benefits of a straighter smile.
Is Invisalign Painful?
Invisalign gradually shifts your teeth, so it should only cause minor to moderate discomfort, the worst of which is felt at the beginning of a new set. Once you have worn that set for a few days, your teeth start to adjust, and the discomfort fades.
Does Invisalign Affect Your Speech?
Invisalign is made of thin, smooth plastic and may mildly affect your speech. Some patients notice a slight lisp at the start of treatment. However, the longer you wear your aligners, the more comfortable you will get speaking in them.
Can I Throw Away My Last Set of Clear Aligners?
It is a good idea to keep your previous set of aligners. If your teeth did not shift correctly, Dr. Buono can check the last trays and make any necessary adjustments. Having your previous set around can help you stay closer to your original treatment timeline if you lose or damage your current aligners.
