You must meet certain requirements in order for implants to be successful. When you have your free consultation at our Long Island office, Dr. Buono will perform an oral exam to determine if you a good candidate. To qualify, you need...
Tooth loss leads to jawbone atrophy. If your bone is not dense enough to support implants, we can arrange a bone grafting procedure that will restore your candidacy.
Candidates for implants must be free of gum disease. If you suffer from a periodontal condition, we will first treat that before moving forward with implants.
We require our patients to be in good overall health before undergoing a dental operation. Patients who smoke, have uncontrolled diabetes, or have an auto-immune disorder may have trouble healing from implant surgery.
